Don't have an RV? Monroe County property offers a 3 Bedroom, 2 bath Stone house to rent, a Lodge, and a number of cabins to rent. The main lodging area of the grounds has a 20 X 30 bank barn and 20 X 30 pole building for storage. Hall was built in 1981, 36 X 60, offering a full kitchen, a stage area, plenty of room for table and chairs, two bathrooms, and a deck. In ground swimming pool, putt putt golf area, and a volleyball area.
RV & TENT SITES
There are approximately 110 RV sites and primitive tent areas on the grounds with some updated meters at the sites. Most RV sites are set up with electric and water. Bathrooms, shower house, and laundry on the grounds. Pavilion with electric, concrete floor, picnic tables, and gas or charcoal grill. A great place to take the family for the day or a few days of camping. Take Scouts on adventures and teach them survivor skills. Also the grounds are large enough to accomidate the travelers working in the gas and oil fields.
Several activities to do on the grounds. Along with swimming, you can shoot hoops on the basketball court, there is a shuffle board, re-establish the putt putt golf area, hiking, fishing in the lake or one of the ponds, volleyball, play a game of baseball in the open fields, bike riding, and a playground. Just minutes from Monroe Lake Wildlife area.
Monroe County was established in 1813. Has been called "The Switzerland of Ohio" because of its rugged terrain and reminded the early Swiss Immigrants of their home
land. As our Monroe County visitors guide states, Monroe County is "Ohio's Best-Kept SECRET. Our County is a part of "Appalachian Ohio", located in Southeastern section of Ohio, known asa the western foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
Wayne National Forest has 25,000 acres in Monroe County for hunting, fishing, hiking, and primitive camping. Some more history from our MC Visitors Guide, "1770s, George Washington and a group of explorers were sent to survey and record their finding in the Northwest Territory." "In the 1780s and 1790s, pioneers started making in roads along the Ohio River banks and valleys." In Monroe County, there is a 40 mile stretch on the Ohio River referred to by George Washington as the "The Long Reach."
From I70 take Barnesville Exit, travel 800 South to Malaga, turn right onto SR 145 towards Miltonsburg, just before Miltonsburg, turn right onto County Road 2, Property is on your left.
From State Route 7 in Clarington, head West on SR 78 to Woodsfield, turn right in center of town to light, turn left onto SR 800 North, to Country Road 2 on left, turn right onto SR 145 through Miltonsburg, then left back onto County Road 2, property on your left.
Campground Resort is only about 40 Miles SW of proposed Cracker Plant in Belmont County, OH. About 40 minutes from gas fired power plant being built on SR 7 in Hannibal, OH along the Ohio River.
