Broadband coming to Monroe County

The best news ever came the other day per Brittany Grego at WTOV9.

More than 400,000 rural Ohioans will have access to high-speed broadband internet through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund Phase 1 Auction.

According to Congressman Bill Johnson, "about $20 billion was appropriated, $16 billion of that was auctioned off to qualify internet service providers."

"Of the $170 million that Ohio won in that auction, $80 million of it, almost half of it is coming to our district in Southeastern Ohio."

Woohoo for Monroe County, we have been awarded the most funding for the next 10 years.  Our funding is $11,538,585.  Which just confirms that our County is in dire need of high-speed internet, especially during this pandemic and our children trying to do remote learning online and myself with my Real Estate business, working online.

Well Done Congressman Bill Johnson!
